Benjamin Wardhaugh lives in Oxford, UK, with his wife Jessica and sons William, Ralph and Laurence. He does research and writing based at the University of Oxford, where he is a Fellow of All Souls College. He is a graduate of Cambridge, Oxford, and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, and holds degrees in mathematics, music, and history.
He is fascinated by the many different roles mathematics has played in culture in the past. His books include studies of the history of everyday mathematics and of the application of mathematics to music.
At the moment he holds an research grant from the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and is working on the reception of Euclid’s Elements of Geometry in seventeenth-century Britain.
